Chef Recipe™ was founded in 2019 on the belief that great food does not need to be expensive. What started out as a chain of 10 outlets in the heartlands of Singapore since 2016, has thus expanded to a casual dining experience in Malaysia, but with the same great quality and taste.

Expect casual fusion dining at our restaurants as we fully embrace the East-meets-West concept, giving you the best of both worlds. Our delectable Western Cuisine are served in generous portions, but at modest prices that will leave your taste buds wanting more. Chinese food and local cuisines that all Malaysians love can also be found at Chef Recipe™, making it the perfect place to dine from breakfast to supper. We take great care to ensure that every step – from preparation to cooking and plating – are meticulously created with the best ingredients to enhance your dining experience.

Chef Recipe is more than just a place to fill your tummy – it’s a place to have a great time! Each outlet has a different theme, but manages to keep it family-friendly with playground area for children and live band entertainment to enjoy while dining. In the future, our customers can expect to see more Chef Recipe outlets in your nearest neighbourhood and dining avenue as we are planning to expand more outlets in Malaysia.

Meet the Chef & Founder

Alex Thoo is a reputable chef with a diverse background and experience in the culinary arts world, be it locally or overseas. As one of the Executive Chefs representing Singapore for World Expo Shanghai 2010, he was inspired by the food culture and wanted to explore opportunities abroad. He then sojourned for a few years in Shanghai to expand his knowledge on food & culinary arts, having worked with Guangzhou and French chefs who are proficient in Cantonese cuisine, before returning to Singapore to serve as a General Manager of a Thai restaurant. He has also served as a F&B Consultant and Specialist for numerous Chinese, Western, Asian and Fusion establishments and restaurant groups in Singapore. This was made possible with the guidance of Chef Peter Ho, an experienced chef and consultant of more than 10 years in Western culinary. Alex holds on to a strong belief that culinary arts is meant for everyone, and with over a decade of experience and helping to start more than 30 Western restaurant chains between 2013 to 2015, he created his brainchild, Chef Recipe™ in 2016. With the support and management expertise of Mr Bear Lee in 2016, Chef Recipe has now entered the Malaysian market with a vision to expand more outlets throughout the country in the near future.
